Paul’s Eschatology

Paul believed the Kingdom of God was both present and a future hope.

When tragic events like the shooting in Las Vegas happen, we cry out with “sighs too deep for words.” Even though we question God during difficult times, Paul reminds us that God’s story is always a story of love. The question, then, is not how God could allow such evil to exist, but how is God revealing God’s kingdom. Paul’s eschatology (belief in the end times) is one that is both a current reality and a future hope. Christ has come and Christ will come again. The kingdom of God is both here, but not yet. We are responsible, not to usher in the kingdom, but to get involved in it.
